Ready to Register?

  • Have you completed an application to JSU and been accepted?
  • Do you have authorization from an advisor to register?
  • Do you know the course information needed in order to register? (You will need the Semester and Call Number primarily; Course ID, Section, Course Title and Instructor would also be helpful in order to confirm information throughout the process).
  • For Online Courses, have you read the System Requirements for Online Course Access?
  • Is it time for you to register yet?  Click here for the Registration Schedule of the next upcoming semester which contains important information about payment of tuition, registration dates and other related information.  (This online version of the printed booklet is generally available approximately 2 months prior to the next upcoming semester).  Distance Learning courses follow the same calendar as regular on-campus classes (see the Academic Calendar ).
  • Register using one of the methods below, ONLY IF YOU HAVE MET THE REQUIREMENTS ABOVE AND ARE ATTEMPTING TO REGISTER ACCORDING TO THE PROVIDED SCHEDULES.

Register for a Course
  • Online Registration - Go to http://www.jsu.edu/2007info.html for the most recent information regarding online registration using the My JSU portal system.
  • Other - Contact or visit the appropriate on-campus office (i.e. the department or college of your major, the department or college through which a course is offered, the Admissions office, etc.)
Notes for Online Courses
  • Read the System Requirements for Online Course Access.
  • All courses follow the traditional academic schedule.  Unless otherwise notified, students are expected to begin work on their course on the first day of the term.
  • You must have an active JSU Email account in order to ensure you receive official instructions and information regarding your Online Course, and to access JSU's Blackboard and other systems.
  • Instructors use a variety of methods for providing courses online.  Please review the information on the Course Availability page for information about course availability and access.  To see the list of Online Courses, go to Online Courses and choose the semester in which your course is offered.  If you don't see your course listed, you may go directly to the the Blackboard Access and Other Systems page.  If you are unable to locate your course in Blackboard or another course content system, you may contact your instructor for more information.
  • Note about taking examinations:  You may be required to identify a testing agent or proctor in your region.  Your instructor should provide more details on this matter once you begin taking a course.  For more information on proctoring, click here or contact your instructor.
